Honda di awal tahun 2013 ini kembali akan meluncurkan satu varian motor sportnya yang berkapasitas 500cc, motor ini adalah CBR500cc dimana akan diluncurkan dua tipe yaitu standar dan ABS. Diharapkan dengan adanya motor baru ini bisa mendongkrak penjualan Motorsportnya dan menambah tipe disetiap kelasnya.
Untuk warna sendiri Honda CBR500r ini dibalut dengan tiga pilihan warna, yaitu warna merah, warna hitam dan campuran white/blue/red. Motor ini di luar negeri dibandrol dengan kisaran harga $5999 untuk tipe standar, sedang tipe ABS $6,499.
